DBT provides us with many skills to help us be more aware of ourselves and to make the effective, wiser decisions we often need to take in crtitical life moments. This therapy involves homework in between sessions, self-monitoring, practicing opportunities to reinforce tools taught and lots of education & teaching moments.
ACT helps us really get in touch with what we value about our lives the most. It acknowledges that sometimes life can be very hard and painful, yet reminds us that we can persevere. This therapy challenges us to accept things we cannot control or like, but to stay dedicated to our passions and ideals while untangling ourselves from unhelpful patterns.
CBT affords us the chance to be more conscientous of the effects our thoughts and feelings can have on our actions. The therapy teaches us to monitor what we tell ourselves and to work on replacing unhelpful internal dialogues that have often been around for ages within us. This therapy may ask you to keep thought journals and to replace distorted thinking or ineffective behavior patterns.
EMDR is an evidence-based therapy approach that has shown to effectively reduce symptoms of trauma in just 1-3 sessions. I use bi-lateral stimulation through a Thera Tapper to help my clients process through difficult life events and find emotional healing.

The goals of the Gottman method include increasing closeness and friendship behaviors, addressing conflict productively, and building a life of shared meaning together. I am Level 2 Trained in their methods.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a well-known humanistic approach to psychotherapy formulated in the 1980’s and developed in tandem with the science of adult attachment, a profound developmental theory of personality and intimate relationships. The EFT model prioritizes emotion and emotional regulation as the key organizing agents in individual experience and key relationship interactions.
Cognitive processing therapy (CPT) is a particular branch of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) that supports trauma recovery. CPT teaches clients how to identify, challenge, and change maladaptive thoughts about their trauma. This modification can facilitate positive emotional and behavioral changes. CPT is a structured treatment that consists of approximately 12 sessions designed to treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
SE therapy works by releasing the trauma that becomes “trapped” in the body. It was developed by Dr. Peter Levine. The goal of SE is to help you notice bodily sensations connected to memories or unresolved life events and to use this awareness to acknowledge and work through painful or distressing life experiences.
